Maui Trash the Dress | Maui Wedding Photographer

I remember, when I first started my business, people would tell me that word of mouth is the best type of marketing.  And I actually completely agree with this statement.  Only, I struggled to see how that would work in a destination wedding market.  What are the odds of that awesome bride from Wisconsin knowing another awesome bride from Wisconsin that would want to get married in Maui?  So I really didn’t think that I’d be getting referrals at all.

Well, one of the first weddings I ever shot, which also goes down as one of my favorites, was with Clay and Becca (you can check it out here).  From Clay and Becca, I have gotten not one, not two, not three… but like 6 or 7 referrals.  And they’ve all been beautiful, lovely people.

Katy and Arrius are among those I was lucky enough to shoot based on this connection.  I’ll share their sweet, perfect wedding with you in a bit, but first want to share this day after, trash the dress session with you.  It is one of my favorite shoots ever.  It was a beautiful place, with beautiful light, shooting beautiful people (both inside and out) who are ridiculously in love and SUPER fun.  As featured on Style Me Pretty Destination Blog, I gotta say, word of mouth FREAKING ROCKS!

From the moment I saw your cocktail pictures up on the Garnish website I knew you would make the world’s best wedding photographer! Because your unique editorial style comes off looking so chic and effortless, which is exactly the type of photos I wanted of my wedding day. I wanted to be able to look back at picture 20 years down the road and feel as though I was right back in the moment. Which is precisely what you did! Here I am a year and seven months later and when I look at my pictures on your blog, I am immediately swept back up in the glamour and the excitement of that amazing day.

It brings me great joy to see your progression to new heights of the wedding world and watch as other brides get to experience all the fun and love that I got through working with you! I look forward to scheduling another photo shoot with you in my future, and will continue to recommend to you any and all friends (or strangers!) I know getting married on Maui that need a sensational photographer! Cheers! xooxoxoxReplyCancel

Hi Trish, thank you for the awesome acknowledgement of Clay and Becca as one of the first to discover your gift! Did you know that Katy and Becca are first cousins? Katy’s mom and Becca’s dad are sister and brother. So cool to see them mentioned together in your blog. We are blessed with beautiful stylish girls in our family! Best to you, LesleyReplyCancel
