So Katie and Dan tied the knot here in Hawaii and were brave enough to trash the dress here in Maui. Katie was just gorgeous and you can just tell by the way Dan looks at her that he’s head over heals in love. Here’s some favorites from this Maui Trash the Dress Session at Secret Beach in Makena.

I seriously can’t believe I haven’t blogged this session yet. It’s one of my favorites. This shoot was seriously sooooooo much fun and I just adore the bride and groom. They were totally open to site hopping and so we hit a whole bunch of locations (I think 7 different spots in under 2 hours). This is a Maui Bridal Portrait meets Maui Trash the Dress session, but the dress wasn’t really trashed at all so… no guilt… wooohooo!

Hair and makeup by www.BeautybyTrisha.com was so perfect. We wanted something a little bit different, a little bit edgy, but still beautiful.

That’s why I love this set. It’s a little bit different, a little bit edgy, but still beautiful. Just how I like it…

This goes down as one of my favorite images EVER. It combines so many things that I love; black and white, negative space, the ocean and two of my most favorite people on this planet. I look at this photo and my heart swells up so big I feel like I could fit the whole world in there.

I always leave Trash the Dress sessions feeling a little bit guilty… like I’ve contributed to the delinquency of a bride. But the truth is, there really is no better way to celebrate your dress than trashing it. Otherwise, it will just sit in a box that you’re too afraid to open because you don’t know what the three years in your in-laws basement have done to it. I wonder if I’ll ever work up the courage to open that box?…

Ah… to be young and require no editing at all. She’s not technically a Senior, so this wasn’t really a Maui Senior Photo Session. It was more like an “I’m sorry I took you to hot yoga where you busted your knee and then had to gimp around for the rest of your Maui vacation and I’m sorry I made you ride a jazzy at Costco” photo session. I’m beginning to understand why we’ve had dwindling numbers of visitors over the years…

Anyone who’s ever tried to do anything cool and vintage on Maui knows… its bloody expensive and super frustrating to find anything unique and vintage. Unless you want rattan pineapples… uh… no thank you.

Things I love about Kauai? Pretty much everything. Except their health food stores leave much to be desired and though the latte’s are pretty… they’re not nearly strong enough. Needs me my Starbucks chemicals!!

Kristen and Paul had a lovely small wedding at Plantation Gardens in Poipu, Kauai. I love elopements and small weddings. Everything is so personal and you really get to know the bride and groom. These two did it right and I wish them many, many years of happiness together! Here’s some favs from this awesome Kauai wedding…
